The arrival of an unidentified package at the downtown Public Law Library prompted the closure of the road fronting the facility Friday until a bomb squad determined that the box contained phone books.
A caller reported the discovery of the mysterious parcel in the lobby of the Front Street building about 2:30 p.m., according to police. Apparently, no one inside saw who left the package in the library.
whew, i bet it was exciting there :)
I've heard about this one from a friend, it seems that nobody saw who left the package and I heard that it was unmarked, there is a big chance that this one was a prank
if it is, the prankster/s should be punished!
these guys should be ashamed of themselves, they could have caused panic at the library, or something worse.
I think an interesting point about that story was that the nearby jailed rerouted some new prisoners to the Vista Detention Facility when the streets were shut down for the bomb squad.
I'm not sure what you mean... do you think they closed the street for the prisoners?
Phone books! It's obviously a prank. It's a relief to hear that it's not a real bomb, though.
at least they respond quickly, what if it was really a true bomb. Pranks are not even funny to do this.
