San Diego is one of the most picturesque cities in the world. And, in such a photogenic community, there undoubtedly is a host of amateur and professional photographers capturing the beauty on the film. Whether you need great San Diego stock images for professional reasons, or you enjoy searching for great desktop backgrounds and […]

San Diego Architecture

I’m on vacation and I decided to be a tourist in my own city today. I started off in Balboa Park and actually discovered things I had never noticed before.
Did you ever notice that the California Tower has a ship spire (?) at the top?

Or that there is a colorful dome at the House of […]

San Diego Photography - Best Backdrops?

So, I’m getting ready to take my new Canon EOS 400D out for a spin this weekend and I’m trying to find some new places to shoot at. I rummaged through the San Diego photos archive here, and did a couple searches, looking at local attractions and tourist spots.
I’ve done the Cove in La Jolla, […]

Patio Playhouse’s “Guys and Dolls”

Steve Cherry sent us this the other day, but our form was broken and that sucks. These photos don’t though:
Patio Playhouse just opened up “Guys and Dolls” this last Friday, and I did a bit of shooting for their dress rehearsal. I’ve attached 3 images, and the gallery can be seen here.

2006 Comic-Con Wrap

I just got back from the 2006 San Diego Comic-Con and it was awesome! It’d been a couple years since I was last there, but I was blown away by the quality of the panels that I went to.
I’ve posted my wrap-up on my website, which you can read here.
You can also check out my […]

Shuttle/ISS Flyover

Kevin suggested (4! days ago — sorry for the lateness, I’ve been busy):
Shuttle + Station Flyover Video
See anything weird in the sky last night?  The Moon was next to
Antares, and the Space Shuttle — docked to the International Space
Station — flew right past it.  They’re bright individually, but
together they’re easy to capture on video or […]

Spy Satellite Launch Flyover Video

Kevin sent us:
Here is a video of the spy satellite launch from Vandenberg that flew
over San Diego, past the crescent Moon as well as Mars & Saturn. The
tropical sunset was nice enough, but the rest of this made for a
spectacular evening.

Padres Brand Peanuts

As some of you know, I live in Simi Valley, not even in San Diego County anymore. Yes, that makes me a carpetbagger. Anyway, it makes it all the more strange to be at the grocery store and be presented with San Diego Padres branded peanuts. For a minute I wasn’t sure where I was. […]
