Street Scene 05 concludes Sat, July 30.

I went to the first day of Street Scene. Boy, is it huge. It literally takes up the entire western part of the Qualcomm parking lot. There were three giant stages, and three even larger beer gardens.

My favorite band that played today was Black Eyed Peas, but sadly they showed up 45 minutes late because their car couldn’t get through all the traffic into the stadiuml; Fergie didn’t even get to put on any makeup or costumes.

My food recommendation is to checkout the Chipotle burrito stand in between the Time Warner and Best Buy Stages. I got a full-sized burrito for $6, and got a chance to win a prize. I won a Dinner for 4 at Chipotle ($48 value)!

They also have a carnival area, and a mostly-free inflatable activities land.

Tomorrow’s (Saturday’s) headliners are Snoop Dogg and 311, but I’m looking forward to Spoon, Death Cab for Cutie, and Dashboard Confessional.

Tickets for tomorrow (Saturday) are $55 at the door. I’d recommend taking the trolley to get there since parking at the stadium is $15, but be prepared for long lines to take the trolley back if you stay til the end of the night.

The new Green Line of the San Diego Trolley opened today.

Today, I went to the Community Ride Day for the new Green Line of the San Diego Trolley. I’d seen all the articles and photos in the UT, so I had an idea of what to expect with the artwork and integration of the four new stations into the existing trolley infrastructure. Even still, I was extemely impressed with the new trolley cars and how impressive the SDSU station was.

Since it was a free ride day, there were way too many riders for the trolleys to handle and the day was filled with lots of waiting for trolleys. I took pictures throughout the day and posted them on my flickr page.

Regular service on the green line starts July 10th. Go to www.sdcommute.com for maps and schedules.
