It’s been almost a year, and here we are again, fires in SD.

There are reports that Firefighters are trying to contain a wildfire that broke out at Camp Pendelton near Oceanside that has destroyed 100 acres as of this afternoon.

I remember last year when it was one fire after another and it took forever to get them under control. People lost their homes, their cars and here we go again.

With this warm weather kicking up along with the Santa Ana winds, it’s no wonder. The last time I checked the calendar it was October, right?

I’m not sure about you, but I’ve had enough of this hot weather and long to pull on a sweater and some boots. I mean, 90+ degrees in October is crazy. Sure, the folks back East would love to be in our shoes, but I’d take a cold, rainy day in the 50s anytime over this.

According to the weather folks, it is finally going to cool down starting Thursday.

What about you? How are you keeping cool?

The stench and choking soot and ash are raining down the backside of the Santa Rosa Plateau. The neighborhoods of De Luz and La Cresta are bracing themselves for another long night. Residents pray that the Santa Anas stay calm and the fires of Camp Pendleton are exstinguished without trajedy.
