Come Monday, Oct. 6, nine parking lots in downtown Chula Vista will have electronic meters installed that will take pre-paid rechargeable gift cards ( available form the city), in addition to debit and credit cards.

What this means is no more hunting in the bottom of your purse for loose change or digging between the backseat cushions.

For those who are electronically-challenged, volunteers will be out and about to help from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00.

Pre-paid can be purchased at the Finance Department at Chula Vista City Hall, 276 Fourth Ave.

What’s going to happen to the meter maids?

I wonder if you’ll be able to pay an expired meter to avoid a ticket.
