The City of San Diego needs Seniors (50 and over) to volunteer in the Retired Senior Volunteer Patrol — also known as R.S.V.P.  Hours vary, and you will need to pass a police background check.

According to the San Diego Volunteer Program’s Web site R.S.V.P entails: Working at Area Stations in providing an increased level of crime prevention programs within specific geographic boundaries by providing additional resources to Department; perform vacation house checks, You Are Not Alone checks, etc.; promote community awareness and acceptance of R.S.V.P. program. Qualifications: 50 years of age or older; interest in working with law enforcement officers; effective oral and written communication skills; reliable and trustworthy with confidential information; in good health; valid California Driver’s License. Time Commitment: Three 8-hour shifts/month.”

    I am retired, My background is in law enforcement followed by being a hoel manager and security director. I am 60 yrs old, disabeled vet who can still get arpond well and needs a few days a week feeling beller about what I am doing.
    please let me know what I have to do to qualifiy to help you out
