Watch out Kelly Clarkson—San Diego’s about to produce the next American Idol star!
I know at least 3 people in San Diego that down-right deserve to let their vocals loose on stage in Hollywood. But actually trying out and facing the judges seems a bit too daunting for the typical karaoke-trapped local star.
I dare San Diego singers to face the fear and try out for the 7th season of American Idol. And guess what—there’s no need to camp out in LA to grab your spot, the Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego is host to the American Idol talent search this July— camping-out unfortunately is still a necessity.
Pop, country, rock, and jazz singers unite on July 30th for the American Idol tryouts at Qualcomm Stadium. Why watch the seventh season when you can be in the seventh season?
The rest of the tour for the out-of-towners:
Dallas: Aug. 6
Omaha: Aug. 10
Atlanta: Aug. 14
Charleston, SC: Aug. 18
Miami: Aug. 22
Philadelphia: Aug. 27
Anyone know any awesome San Diego performers sure to blow the judges away?

My 60 year old husband has the most awesome, beautiful tenor voice. He has always wanted to be a performer. He has been in countless choruses, choirs, musicals, etc., anything that relates to singing.
I would love for him to get a chance like this, but am fairly certain that due to his age this would be impossible. I wish this could happen for him!
I believe IDOL limits you to being 35 years old. However, NBC’s Americas Got Talent has no age restriction. Send him there next year.
im gonna be the next american idol…FUCK YEA
I love american idol. I can’t believe how many people who show up and think they can sing!!
It’s amazing to watch!!
it doesnt say when… not that i dont know cuz i do but for the other people! and it doesnt have the age limits… or what you need to bring with you…. like talent! then the line wont be as big and i dont have to sleep outside fer three days!

I actually heard that there will be no camping out here either. From what I heard, on July 28 those interested in trying out go and get a numbered wrist band, then return on July 30 to go in that order. I think they wanted to prevent the camping out situation from happening in SD.
Yes, that is correct… no camping out. As mentioned on the page with the full details, wristbands for audition will be handed out starting on Saturday 7/28. Our promotion to guarantee 3 people an audition just ended, and the winners will be announced soon on FOX6.
Cant wait to see who the winners are, I will down there with ya singing my heart out. Real Estate Finance

Yes, there’s a lot of talent here in San Diego. Check out J.D. Boucharde and his line up of “Happy Songs About the War” at Humphrey’s on August 29th. He’s a local guy with a big heart, just not big into the marketing gig so support him whenever you can. –Jenny
