Who Else Wants to Ban Smoking on San Diego Beaches?

Littering is a bad habit that disgusts me. When you litter, you ruin the local environment. San Diego beaches are the worst problem. Don’t mess with my beach litterbugs! I don’t understand how hard it is for people to find trashcans. Honestly, are they trying to ruin the environment?

The big drama on the local news these days is about cigarette butts on San Diego beaches. Supposedly a proposed law is to eliminate smoking from all beaches to stop the buildup of cigarette-butt litter from ruining the San Diego environment. Is it just me, or is that a little bizarre? I am not a smoker, so, I am all for eliminating cigarettes and cigarette buts on the beach. But I do see some holes in this plan.

What about the rest of the litter? Are they going to ban drinking water and eating potato chips on the beach in order to get rid of left-over bottles and bags? I found a pretty funny San Diego blog about this hot-topic, titled Beach Smoking Ban.

How far do you think the government will go to maintain a clean beach environment in San Diego? How far should they go?

Who’s in favor of extreme action involving San Diego models, nudity, and fur? Check out what these girls will do for the environment.

So my problem with this is that it is just another right the government is taking away from us, are you okay with our rights slowly being taken away? yeah i dont think most people are. Also has anybody thought about the fact that since alcohol is banned from the boardwalk, people stand 1 foot away from the boardwalk wall and drink.. So this would lead me to believe that if smoking were banned from the beaches, people would just walk up to the boardwalk and smoke there and thus litter the boardwalk or worse yet, crowd the boardwalk even more. I say stick to the bay if you want to chill by the water and avoid the smokers and drinkers and litter.

I’m not a smoker, but I’m with Mattster. (No relation).

Allowing the government to take yet another freedom away is retarded at best.

Hey, Newsgal, how about next we ban bloggers from making political statements? Would that get your attention? Something that affects you negatively but is a positive for others?

See where this is going?
