Weekend Planning Guide

It’s not too early to think about what to do this weekend. As usual, there are plenty of options.

For the beer lover in you, check out La Mesa’s 33rd Annual Oktoberfest. This party is the stuff of legend around here, good thing you can take the trolley there. The Oktoberfest dates and times are as follows:

Friday, October 6 from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m.
Saturday, October 7 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and
Sunday, October 8 from Noon to 6 p.m.

For those who want some culture, you have to head down to Little Italy’s 12th Annual Festa. It runs Saturday and Sunday, but there is much more happening on Sunday. For those of you who haven’t been to Festa, I think the best part is the street painting. They close down the side street next to Princess Pub and there are artists “painting” the street with chalk. Each year, one of the artists are commissioned to do a permanent work, which is then prominently displayed in Little Italy. Oh, and if you get a cannoli, get it from the Cafe Zuccero booth. Hands down the best in town.

If you head to either one of these events, be sure to let us know.
