25 Years of the Adams Avenue Street Fair

One of the best things about this city is that there is always something to do on the weekends. Heads up to everyone that the 25th Anniversary edition of the Adams Ave. Street Fair is just two weekends away, on September 23 & 24.The performance schedule has been announced. You can download a PDF file of the schedule here. Performances that should not be missed:

Saturday:
12.00 Marie Haddad (DiMilles Stage)
3.45 Fifty On Their Heels (Rock Stage on 33rd)
6.00 Cash’d Out (Roots Rock Stage on 34th)
6.30 Get Back Loretta (Rock Stage on 33rd)

Sunday:
12.30 Bartender’s Bible (Roots Rock Stage on 34th)
1.15 The Power Chords (Rock Stage on 33rd)
2.15 Mario Escovedo (Lestats Stage)
3.15 Grand Ole’ Party (Rock Stage on 33rd)
3.15 Lady Dottie & The Diamonds (Blues Stage)
4.45 Dirty Sweet (Rock Stage on 33rd)

That’s a tough decision on Sunday at 3.15. But if you haven’t seen Grand Ole’ Party, you are missing out. You can always catch Lady Dottie on Saturday nights at House of Blues.

If you have any other recommendations, tips, etc, comment away. My recommendations are definitely skewered to the rock bands, but there are plenty of other types of music represented, so let us know who you want to see.

25th Anniversary! I recommend it.

I like rock as well and currently have a love-hate thing going on with the reality show Rock Star: SuperNova. It’s overproduced, cloying and mostly weird, yet the house band is first-rate and a few of the performances have blown me away.

rock star supernova wtf? i can’t BELIEVE that dottie and gop are directly opposite each other.
