Riders will leave from a variety of locations throughout the county, coming together between 9:30 & 10:00 am on Kearny Villa Road to silently ride as many 1 mile loops as you wish. This road design has been the scene of a number of cycling fatalities including Captain Patrick Klokow (2005) and Larry Mahr (2001). Media organizations have promised us that they will be there…will you?
Please join us to make a more powerful showing that Bikes Belong - Stop the Killings!
At this point group rides to the Kearny Villa Road site are planned to depart from:
Del Mar Starbucks, 8:30 am departure
Normal Heights Community Center, 4649 Hawley Avenue, 8:30 am departure
Mast High School, Santee, 8:30 am departure
Or create your own ride! there is very limited car parking in this area - so bicycle on over on your own and join us!
Light refreshments and a brief program will take place at approximately 10:30 am at the east end of Harris Plant Road. Last year we had approximately 500 cyclists come out for this positive sign of
solidarity. We hope to beat that number this year!
Please pass this along to every cyclist you know!
(This ride is not a sanctioned or organized group ride, it is a peaceful and positive gathering in memory of friends and in hope of better cycling conditions!)
