This looks like a fabulous event…. “cutting edge contemporary art” music and dancing at the Red Ball, a fundraiser for Sushi Performance and Visual ARt. Come dressed in red, or dressed as your favorite revolutionary.

June 10, 2006. 9 pm…. If you’re a member already, tickets are only $35 if you’re not a member tickets will cost $40 ($45 at the door).

This event will be held at the NTC Promenade (2875 Dewey Rd, San Diego CA 92106) which is the old Naval Training Center, which by the way, was my granddad’s first duty station in 1936… and we held my grandma’s funeral at the chapel there in 1994…. It was de-militarized in the 1990 Base Re-Alignment and the city of San Diego has re-developed portions of it into the NTC Promenade, a designated cultural district and several tenants of an artistic and/or educational nature have already moved in taking advantage of the really good deal being offered to non-profit educational and arts organizations.

Even it you don’t make it to the Red Ball, do check out the NTC Promenade. There’s all kinds of stuff going on down there…
