Prank letter promised contraception | The San Diego Union-Tribune
A letter informing parents that San Dieguito High School Academy was going to distribute contraceptive devices at school dances was a hoax that sparked calls from concerned parents and an investigation. The May 4 letter stated, “Due to the generous donations provided by the National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy, San Dieguito Academy will hearby supply free contraceptive devices at all further dances, beginning with prom 2006.â€
It was printed on academy letterhead and included the signatures of Principal Barbara Gauthier and ASB director Rod Keillor.
