If you were a 5th grade girl in the San Diego Unified School district, policy would dictate that you would see a sex education video in your elementary school classroom. All the boys would have to leave before your female teacher showed the video. The “plot” would have a 13-year old girl asking her Mom about a friend that had started her period for the first time. The Mom, as she was cooking breakfast, illustrated the female reproductive system using the pancake batter she was preparing. Girls in the class were giggling.
Your parents or grandparents might have seen these unintentionally funny movies geared to teenagers in the 1950’s to explain the mysteries of sex.
What’s next, potty training for girls? Jeez!

I was in 5th grade in 1988 and we had to watch that video with the pancake batter in school. It was a catholic school in Ohio. Now that I look back, I am shocked that in the late 80’s we were still watching such silly and uninformative videos! I would love to get my hands of a copy of that video (I think it was actually on a projecter reel). What a hoot!
Oh gosh now I’m telling my age here, way back when in 1966 my first sex educational class, yup all of the boys had to leave the room, only problem is we had no female teachers bacn then, no even the nurse was female, we dealt with our male teacher instead and wow talk about alot of blushing back then.
I remember that too, and I came upon this site trying to track it down. Does anyone, perchance, remember the name of this video?
