There were no such events detected offshore that I am aware of. So I think we are still left with secret miliary thingee of meteor explosion. It must have been a big one, but not sure why this wouldn't register as an earthquake .. hmm. USGS stated that there were no earthquakes, but they didn't say whether or not the seismographs registered any activity. Do you have a link to that source? I'd be curious to read more about it.
