Lura of lura.net sent us this touching note yesterday:

MAS and I moved downtown. This morning we saw a dead man on the sidewalk outside our rental condo.

On the site she says:

Since we’ve moved downtown, we’ve seen two crime scenes; complete with bodies, detectives, and camera crews. We can see the latest one from our balcony. There is a dead man about 20 yards away and 3 floors down. I guess that you can say that we’re truly experiencing urban living!
The San Diego Tribune said that it may have been suicide; apparently he was a resident of the building. Regardless, he took a dive off of the fourth floor balcony. This is the second dive from a downtown balcony in as many months.

Lura is one of the first San Diego bloggers I found, via a profile in USA Today. She doesn’t blog anymore. MAS and Lura have been together for quite a while. He’s also blogged about condos downtown, specifically, economics.
