Get rid of your old TVs and monitors for free — Enviro Fair 2005

North County residents can safely discard their old or broken TVs and monitors this Saturday, September 24, 2005.

Free collection of residential electronics open to North County residents (cities of Carlsbad, Del Mar, Encinitas, Escondido, Oceanside, Poway, San Marcos, Solana Beach & Vista) and any unincorporated San Diego County residents.

Acceptable items include televisions and computer monitors, computer processing units (CPUs), peripherals and computer printers. Items that will NOT be accepted include small and large household appliances, stereos, and hazardous and business waste. Participants please use the Solana Gate entrance.

Funded by a grant from the California Integrated Waste Management Board.

Event is being held on the Training Track at the Fairgrounds, which is accessible from the Solana Gate entrance, on the south side of Via de la Valle between Jimmy Durante Blvd. and Highway 101.

This collection is associated with the Enviro Fair 2005 being held at the Del Mar Fairgrounds (Sept 23 & 24)

Enviro Fair, presented by San Diego County Toyota Dealers, is a two-day event hosted by the 22nd District Agricultural Association, Friday and Saturday, September 23-24.

This free exhibition and comprehensive seminar highlights environmental challenges, advances in renewable energy and resources, environmentally friendly products, and business and consumer conservation services available in San Diego County.

It features speakers on various environmental topics, a fashion show of casual hemp-fabric clothing and an art exhibit of projects made from recycled materials.

Saturday is Family Day with a special area for kids to create a three-dimensional art project using items they choose to re-use.
