route66 has donated computers to the San Diego Computer Museum and hopes that it finds the funding it needs.
“On Saturday, August 27, 2005, the San Diego Computer Museum will be open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm to the public for the last time at Coleman College, La Mesa. Everyone is invited to tour the Museum for the last time at its current location, slated to be demolished by the end of the year and redeveloped into residences. The Museum is seeking financial support as well as a tourist-friendly location to house the collection of more than 1,000 large and small computer relics, including hardware, software and printed materials. The Museum, formerly known as the Computer Museum of America, closed to the public on Jan. 15 when it lost funding from its major benefactor, the Coleman Foundation. Visits and tours have continued to be offered by prior appointment. “

From a bowling alley to Coleman Fir’s computer skill mill to residences…. probably condos’s with that oh so special view of I-8 and the new Trolley….Maybe the Hot Dog Museum and Computer Museum could merge…and have a Dog Computer Museum…Kaypro II’s and Apple II’s and Floppy Disks and Hard Disks and Hot Dogs…
Wow, what would it be like…walking down exhibits and then bam you see a floppy. LOL
I could use a good hot dog.
