Free Radio San Diego (FRSD 96.9 FM www.pirate969.org) is having a party and quasi-fundraiser this Sunday, August 7th in the Administrative Courtyard of Balboa Park.
It’s San Diego Day!!! What’s San Diego Day? Well, it’s an idea inspired by us over here at FRSD 96.9FM. The idea being to have a summer day in the park, complete with BBQ, beverages (wink wink), sports, hanging around, and just having a nice day in America’s Finest City.
WHERE: Balboa Park, at Administrative Courtyard. [directions]
WHEN: Sunday, August 7th, 2005. 11:00am - Sunset.
COST: Absolutely free.
WHAT TO BRING: Bring any food you might want grilled up, and our chef will be @ the grill. Also, bring any beverages, but avoid glass bottles. Maybe a lawn chair or two, blanket, and other picnic type stuff. We will be keeping a section of the grill meat-free, just to be extra sensitive to our vegan and vegetarian friends. The theme for this event is fun in the summer time. Our list of activities will include water gun fights (continual shooting; bring your own), volley ball, kick ball, improvised lawn darts, croquet, reading cause you’re tired of playing, and tomar el sol. We’ll have some speakers set up to play music, and just generally a good time.
The highlight of the day will be a kick ball game pinning FRSD 96.9FM against the crew of Radio Active San Diego. Long have we had a grudge, and on August 7th, that grudge shall be settled once and for all, on the glorious fields of a kick ball game. Yes Radio Active, we are throwing down the kick ball gauntlet!
