I went to the first day of Street Scene. Boy, is it huge. It literally takes up the entire western part of the Qualcomm parking lot. There were three giant stages, and three even larger beer gardens.

My favorite band that played today was Black Eyed Peas, but sadly they showed up 45 minutes late because their car couldn’t get through all the traffic into the stadiuml; Fergie didn’t even get to put on any makeup or costumes.

My food recommendation is to checkout the Chipotle burrito stand in between the Time Warner and Best Buy Stages. I got a full-sized burrito for $6, and got a chance to win a prize. I won a Dinner for 4 at Chipotle ($48 value)!

They also have a carnival area, and a mostly-free inflatable activities land.

Tomorrow’s (Saturday’s) headliners are Snoop Dogg and 311, but I’m looking forward to Spoon, Death Cab for Cutie, and Dashboard Confessional.

Tickets for tomorrow (Saturday) are $55 at the door. I’d recommend taking the trolley to get there since parking at the stadium is $15, but be prepared for long lines to take the trolley back if you stay til the end of the night.

I wrote a post about it as well.

Was it just me - or did that seems strangely NOT like a sweat stain on fergie’s shorts?

Lol, it seemed too perfect to be just a sweat stain. Reminded me of what Will Ferrell did during the MTV Movie Awards a couple years back. ;-)

why did the blogger go to mcdonald’s-owned chipotle when there were so many other unique and independent food options? just go to your local chipotle any other time.

I went to Chipotle because most of the food that was being sold started at $6 (most were more expensive), and the size of the burritos that Chipotle was making was well worth the price. I looked around at other vendors first, but most of the size of the meals wasn’t worth the price. Also, I needed something that I could while packed in with other people waiting for the next show and the foil wrapped burritos definitely worked for that.

I think there was a different fabric on the inside of Fergie’s pants, kind of like a “saddle seat”, like you would see on riding pants. i’m sorry to disappoint everyone, but i don’t think she peed her pants.

Abby, I was about 15 feet from the stage. (Yeah, I was there in the front.) The dark spot on her shorts grew over the course of the show, which I’ll agree could very well be just a bad case of sweating.

On a side note, the UT has a picture of Fergie and Will.I.Am from the show where you can kinda see said wet spot. It’s in the Street Scene writeup today on the front of the Currents section.

Wow, the Peas were pretty damn disappointing, wet spots and all. Did you hear her excuse? She said something about waking up late from a nap. And I feel bad about the announcer dude getting a bottle thrown at him but he could not have been more annoying. THREE frigging times he tried to hype up the crowd like they were coming out and then walked off the stage to leave us all scratching our heads.

I felt bad for my girlfriend, since she likes them so much. Plus we missed an absolutely blistering performance by the flogging mollies at the next stage - I ran over to the food area to get some drinks while we waited and they were tearing it up, the crowd was going nuts. Even the people in the food line far away like me were dancing around and infected with fun.

Well at least she got to see why the white stripes are my favorite band - she’s more of a hip hop girl, not really into rock of any kind and was blown away. Too bad the peas pushed their showtime back by an hour and we didn’t get on the trolley out of there until 2:00 in the morning.

i’m pretty sure it wasn’t the type of pants fergie was wearing (reference to the post about her wearing saddle pants), because on the big screen, one minute the spot wasn’t there, the next it was.

Totally agree with Al Abut, my fiancee is a big BEP fan, and she was really disappointed in their performance. It didn’t help that Fergie flipped off the friggin cameraman, projecting that image to an already pissed off crowd.

It was nice to see the White Stripes bring the crowd back with yet another awesome set. That Jack White is one talented mofo…

I stood around waiting for BEP but decided to go see garbage. They were great. Even after seeing most of garbages set I was still able to catch BEP. I was totally let down. The White Stripes were awesome I couldn’t get over how so much great sound came from only two people. By the way where did all the green scarfs come from? And would someone be willing to part with one. The girl I was with was disappointed she didn’t get one.

The green scarfs were from Rubio’s. I was wondering about that, and then on Saturday when I was entering, chicks on Segways with Rubio’s ads on them were handing out the scarfs as well as coupons.

    Segways…hmm….so expensive

Chicks on Segways.. I can think of some ways to through those things off balance now!

Maybe Rubio’s could have made a friend by handing out some Depends..

Fergie’s reps are claiming she didn’t pee herself in San Diego at Street Scene over the weekend, and that the huge wet spot in the middle of her crotch was just sweat, but either way I’m going with disgusting. Obviously sweat is a million times more acceptable than urine, but what kind of monster woman sweats to the point where it could be mistaken for pee? The only people I know that sweat that much are male professional athletes and fat people. So which one is it, Fergie? Are you a male professional athlete or fat?
