I just saw a story about “The Major League Experience” on KFMB. For a baseball fanatic like me, this sounds too good to be true:
The “MLE” allows average athletes and baseball fans, even not-so-average athletes and fans, to live the dream that is often referred to as the number one sports fantasy of all men, to become a major league baseball player. The “MLE” offers to make that dream a reality for 9 days. Anyone can now have the opportunity to know what it feels like to be a major league baseball player. During the “MLE”, (6) 20 man teams play on major league fields, travel like the major leaguers, stay in the same luxury hotels, ride the chartered buses to and from the stadiums and hotels, answer questions during pre and post game interviews from the “MLE” media corps and most importantly, experience the camaraderie and develop the team presence and atmosphere that most of us haven’t experienced since their days of little league, high school or college. You will be managed, coached and instructed by former major league baseball players and former major league managers, players who were world series champions, United States Olympic gold medallists and most importantly…players who played recently, that you watched a few years ago and that can still get out there on the field and not only show you how to do it, but do it themselves. Every attendee on the tour plays at every field, barring injury, no one gets left out. You will be attended to by major league clubhouse managers and their assistants, traveling secretaries, trainers and physical therapists, while on the tour. The only thing missing will be 45,000 screaming fans. The “MLE” has overlooked nothing while putting this once in a lifetime event together.
What’s the catch? you ask. Well, try $12,500. If you want to sponsor a former future all-star in the making, let me know and I’ll send paypal information.
