sunshine noirSunshine/Noir is a recently published anthology of fiction and non-fiction edited by San Diego City College English and labor studies professor, Jim Miller. Included in the anthology are such well known locals and expats as Mike Davis, Perry Vasquez, and Mark Dery.

Dery’s charming essay of an intellectual’s coming of age in our sufer’s city is available online at SD CityBEAT.

A book signing will take place this Saturday evening at the ICE Gallery (3714 30th St., North Park, 619-244-9302) and again at Voz Alta on June 25th. The book is also available online at City Works Press.

    Miller and Davis are two of the writers who, along with Kelly Mayhew, wrote Under The Perfect Sun, which if you haven’t encountered it yet is a great read. I call a decoder ring for all of bullshit that gets piped out of our It’s Always Sunny in Des Moin…er, San Diego! government/media complex.

    Is anyone else going to be at the signing at Ice tomorrow?
