strong lineup — can’t believe some of the big names they booked — and looking forward to extra space at the new site.

Very good lineup, but the location sucks. The days of Street Scene in the Gas Lamp are over, what a sad idea! What are you going to do once the music is done at the Q? You have to drive some where to continue the party! When it was down town the party wouldn’t stop until 2 in the morning. Who cares if it was crowded…. it’s a concert!!! They are supposed to be crowded!
The new format for Street Scene sucks. It was called Street Scene, because it was right int the middle of downtown. It should now be called Parking Lot Scene. It has turned into just another concert with multiple bands playing.
The all ages format sucks too. It was great not to deal with a bunch of teenagers.
I am afraid over the last 3 years Street Scene has lost its character. Roaming the streets of a major downtown city, turning a corner to see a huge stage behind a sky scrapper and then walking straight into a bar within the venue was definitely a unique experience. Especially with the plethora of bands playing all different types of music and where you could experience bands you never would have heard of otherwise. Now they are trying too hard to attract only the younger crowd and it has turned into “parking lot scene” with a bunch of major acts that everyone knows where you have to pay for $300 VIP passes to see some of them? I guess ill wait to see the line up for 2006…
And where is The Mouse playing this year?

I heard a really bad rumor that street-scene was going to be a “dry” event, meaning no alcohol would be served unless you purchased a VIP pass. Anyone know the truth on this one?

I can’t believe that the Street Scene has moved its location. Best lineup in 22 years! Who gives a shit about the lineup. Thats not why ss was so cool. It was the location. It was the visual excitement of being downtown (why the gaslamp is os successful)
Qualcomm parking lot? Yea, right. Its not even flat. Carnival rides? All ages? If I want that venue, I’ go to the Del Mar Fair…and I don’t!!!
Try to contact “Street Scene” to protest…nothing but e-mail addresses and a regular mail address. No phone #s. Bunch of Loosers.
this is the best lineup in years. and it’s a good thing that it’s in the Q’s parking lot.

I think it’s been going downhill every year for the past 5.
