From Forbes’ Most Expensive ZIP Codes 2005:
We have 5 of the 150. We quote Forbes:
The list is testament to the costs of living in California, with half of our top ten ZIPs in that state, and nearly two-thirds of our top 25. It’s not such a shock when you consider that California home prices increased nearly 100 percent between 1999 and 2000, according to the U.S. Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight.
| # | Zip Code | City, State | Median Home Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 | 92067 | RANCHO SANTA FE, CA | $2,144,254 |
| 58 | 92118 | CORONADO, CA | $1,074,264 |
| 66 | 92014 | DEL MAR, CA | $1,019,122 |
| 73 | 92037 | LA JOLLA, CA | $964,134 |
| 107 | 92091 | RANCHO SANTA FE, CA | $876,119 |
| 144 | 92075 | SOLANA BEACH, CA | $806,250 |
I think I got all the San Diego County ones. Anyone care to doublecheck my eyesight?

I think Forbes made an error in that article. Homes went up 100% in California between 1999 and 2004. I don’t think the 100% jump took place in a 1 year time frame. Of course I didn’t arrive out here until June 2000, so maybe it did.
