Illegal Immigration is a big part of the culture and economics of San Diego, as well as California in general. San Diego Magazine has a story called A Smuggler’s Life: Former “coyotes†reveal a rare and fascinating glimpse inside the risky practice of carrying undocumented aliens across the Mexico border. It is indeed a fascinating story of lawlessness, American expatriates, changes since 9/11 and prosaic intrigue.
