Adding to the legal woes facing the City of San Diego over its financial mismanagement, the District Attorney has launched an investigation of her own—focusing on whether the state’s conflict of interest laws were violated in the now-notorious pension underfunding scheme approved by the retirement board, Mayor and Council in November 2002. We applaud Bonnie Dumanis for pursuing this matter and urge the City to fully cooperate with her investigation. Stay tuned…and stay engaged.
