Longtime reader and suggester David Moye, in a fit of shameless self-promotion, sent us: Padres.com rock the vote website

The San Diego Padres are currently hosting a contest to find a theme song for the 2005 season. One of the songs being considered was written by me, David Moye, who wrote and recorded it under the name the Base Desires. The song is called “Padres On A Mission”

There are other good songs as well including one by Sean O’Donnell, Myrtle Bernard and Rookie Card and are worth checking out.

Listed under “T” for “The Base Desires”.

While we can’t attest to the vote-worthiness of David’s song, the idea of the Padre’s having a theme song is sort of intruiguing.

I’m fine with anything as long as they drop that dumb “Take Me Out To The Ballgame” cover by the coo-coo ka Kaja Goo Goo Dolls. And everything that uses slide guitar too.

    Looking forward to the vote.
