We’re a little late on this one, but very cool news that one of Rock and Roll’s biggest groups will be opening its 2005 tour here in San Diego. From u2tours.com:
U2 will kick off its 2005 world tour March 28 at the San Diego Sports Arena, Billboard can exclusively reveal. Kings Of Leon will open the first leg of the trek, tickets for which will begin going on sale Jan. 29. The tour, named Vertigo after the first single from U2’s new Interscope album, “How To Dismantle an Atomic Bomb,” will be officially announced Monday (Jan. 24).
Tickets are sure to sell out. As the date gets closer we’ll keep our eyes on Craig’s List to see how high scalpers are charging.

What a terrible venue. Especially considering this place seems to be available that night.

They’re also on the cover of the Night and Day section of the UT and CityBeat also ran an interview. I have a copy of their new CD if anyone’s interested

Anyone care to pass this on to any interested parties? I’m helping a friend with some publicity for a gig. Thanks! Mark
