San Diego is home to a thriving design scene, and Wearhaus is at the center of it all. Its purpose is to bring like-minded people together to network, share ideas (sound familiar?) and show their wares at the monthly showcase at the San Diego Martini Ranch downtown.
Five designers are behind Wearhaus, Sally Smith of “Sally Bee,” Vanessa Salazar of “Vichi,” Julie Anstedt of “Rambunctious Designs,” Krystina Grammatica of “Grammatique,” and Carman Stalker of “Stalker Designs.” The website features photos, videos, and links to the designers’ sites so you can see all their amazing work.
Look, I still survive on a diet of Gap khakis and button-down shirts, but I like a lot of the stuff I see on the sites, especially Grammatique’s.

After seeing this post, my girl and I went down Friday night and checked it out - we walked away with a new piece of gear each! She got a cute cap thingy and I got a sweater. The photo and the Wearhaus site were a little misleading though, it was more of a arts and crafts thing than a fashion show. No models or runways, which is what I was expecting after similar events by ninthlink at the Abbey last year.

Actually we had fashion shows every 15 minutes through out the whole day!
The seting was a bit different and creative. At every 15 min slot 4 girls would walk out on our beautifuly lit runway and then onto the corner stage where they posed like manequins, showcasing each participating designer, who’s names were anounced as if in a department store in the 50’s. There were many sparkly and cute things to look at so I can see how one could get distracted. There are many pictures and videos on our website http://www.wearhaus.org if you would like to see the missing shows.
