Yesterday, the Chargers earned their first playoff berth since 1995 and their first division title since 1994. At the minimum, San Diego is guaranteed a home game in the wild-card round January 8th or 9th.
Eli Manning and his family can watch that Bolt playoff home game on TV.

I can’t claim to be the biggest Chargers fan (or football fan at all), but I do think it’s pretty sweet that there’s a buzz around town over the Chargers’ surprise season. It’s getting people talking to each other on the trolley.

I look foward to voting on new stadium proposal on the ballot in 2006 or 2008. I’m hopeful something can be worked out that is a win-win situation for all concerned.

As do I. My win-win situation is a new library.

A new stadium doesn’t preclude a new Main library. Oh, and a new “Main library” has been talked about for about as long as we’ve had “San Diego Stadium”. Some people remember when the old Sears site in Hillcrest was touted as the site of the next Main library.

If the National Felon League wants a new stadium, let them pay for it. San Diego taxpayers
shouldn’t subsidize the hobbies of others, be it football or giving bums a place to hang out
downtown. No stadium. No library.
