Border Patrol Union Site

Joseph Dassaro sent us: Border Patrol Union Website, saying:

major source for inside info on Border Patrol Activities in San Diego

The site says it is:

Local 1613 of the National Border Patrol Council is the exclusive union representative of all Border Patrol Agents and support personnel assigned to the San Diego Sector of the U.S. Border Patrol Department of Homeland Security and is the 9th largest A.F.G.E. Local in the nation.  Although union membership is not mandatory, Local 1613 boasts a 96% membership rate among eligible law enforcement personnel assigned to San Diego Sector offering a testament to the level of service provided to members. Among the services we provide are: access to the PORAC Legal Defense Fund, affirmative legal relief, grievance and disciplinary representation, a $10,000 funeral and death benefit, local lobbying efforts, representation before the Merit Systems Protection Board, alternative dispute resolutions services, access to defined group benefits at significant discounts, retirement education and seminars, workers compensation training, and much more.

All Local 1613 Executive Officers are volunteers who are United States Border Patrol Agents elected to their positions by the membership.  Executive Officers serve two year terms and may be re-elected to office.  Local 1613 is a non-partisan organization and does not make political contributions to any political party or candidate.

Interesting site. I know we’ve mentioned the border patrol before.

Please send the following letter to the sponsors of the Amnesty Bill
These are home addresses and telephone numbers -so be nice and get your point across. Who knows, they might invite you over for coffee. _____________________________________________________________________
TO: MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE i.e. . Gang of 12

VOTE NO ON AMNESTY BILL-pass no new laws!-enforce what is on the books now!

The four things we must do are: (1). Secure our Borders. (2.) Crack down on employers that intentionally hire illegal labor. (3.) Remove all benefits such as licenses, in-state tuition, and welfare for illegal aliens. (4.) Empower local police to enforce immigration law.

By sponsoring this bill and promoting this fraud on the USA you are a lighting rod for trouble. Please make the public aware where you, your family and staff are at, at all times, so we can avoid you and those places. Please think about the witness protection program for you and your family when you are out of office.

“You tell’em I’m coming…and hell’s coming with me, you hear!?”

Just wondering where your representation of Agents Ramos, compean, Brugman, et al was.
These agents were railroaded for doing their jobs, trying to stop illegals. The only publicity
these cases are receiving is coming from other
organizations than yours. I fail to understand what kind of legal representation they received to have been found guilty of wrongdoing. I am not a lawyer, but even I know that represented competently they would not have been found guilty, and a drug
trafficer would not have been allowed to sue for 4 Million Dollars! I believe accepting dues
from these agents is fraudulent if you can’t
represent them effectively.

I would like to contribute to a defence fund for the two imprisoned agents.
