I can’t agree with Joe enough. Here’s a last minute election run down.
If you’re still wanting to read up on some of the ballot initiatives and candidates, the non-partisan San Diego County Voter Information page from smartvoter.org seems to be the best.
The Union Tribune has an Election 2004 page and voter’s guide. The North County Times has an Election 2004 page that includes their ballot recommendations.
Ballot recommendations can also be found from the Union Tribune, San Diego City Beat, and La Prensa. Indyvoter.org also has a number of ballot recommendations for California and San Diego.
Of course, you can also find ballot recommendations at the San Diego Libertarian Party, Green Party of San Diego, Republican Party of San Diego, and Democratic Party of San Diego.
KPBS says that according to their poll, Donna Frye leads the mayoral race. NBCSandiego.com says it’s too close to call.
The San Diego Libertarian Party website has an interesting recording of KPBS Michael Marcotte explaining why the Libertarian candidates were locked out of the KPBS debates.
The San Diego Reader’s Thomas Larson has written an excellent piece on the history of mayoral races in San Diego. This week’s City Lights columns once again do an impressive job of getting to the bottom of local political dealing leading up to the election.
If I missed any good resources or if you come across any interesting local election day news, please leave a comment below.
