Gold Coast Classic — Hotel?
We got an oddball comment on an unrelated post from a person named Bernard Brown who asks:
I’m trying to locate the name of the hotel(s) where the two teams for the 2004 Gold Coast Classic will be staying while in San Diego for the Nov 6, 2004 football game. I will be traveling from out of town and would like to stay at the same hotel as the teams because of friends and contacts etc.Please can you help
The answer is: I don’t think so, and I have no idea how to find out. However, the GCC is pretty interesting:
The Gold Coast Classic returns to San Diego for the eighth time on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004. The annual fall event matches up two historically black college football teams for a notoriously exciting gridiron contest.
In 2002, the Classic broke ticket sales records, and scores from past events have been neck-and-neck. Several recent games have been decided by less than one touchdown, so this year’s contest is sure to be a nail-biter.
