The Union-Tribune’s Robert Krier has a relatively new weblog called Weather Watch, which as you could guess, focuses on the weather. Yesterday he wrote:
We’ve now gone 169 days without measurable precipitation in San Diego. That moves the streak into second place in San Diego history, surpassing the 165-day stretch of 1988. The longest dry run since record-keeping began was last year, when we went 181 days without rain.

Another interesting weather fact I dug up a few weeks ago: it hasn’t rained in any significant way during the month of August for the last 20 years. Total rainfall for that month has been one tenth of an inch since 1985.
Monthly rainfall stats for San Diego can be found here.
