Got back from Rock the Walk earlier. Leah and I even got to meet Joelle and Mikey — FINALLY. Somehow I had never been to The Casbah, and it was a great little seedy club. It’s right in the airport flight path — man them things are noisy! Anyway, we stayed for a while - but we’re like, totally in our thirties, so we hung for a while and played some pool and had some beer. It was great. They had all kinds of Anti-AIDS paraphernalia — condoms and lube and stuff. They had some raffles, but we did not win. We were quite taken with Velvet Tongue — great 3-piece combo. Very rocking.
Oh yeah, Leah and I got our pasty faces in some pictures by the people at SDpix — I assure you these will not be attractive photos. We’re working on it.
I even managed to find a copy (like, printed!) of SDMusicMatters, the magazine.
How I have lived off and on in San Diego for so long, and have never been to the Casbah ’til tonight, I cannot say. But I’m glad we went. Nice little bit of fun for us thirtysomethings.
Coming up this weekend: Adams Ave Street Fair and of course AIDS Walk.
