SoCalFreeNet.org offers HotSpot Program

I am selfish and want more cafes to have wireless access. So this is promising news:

SoCalFreeNet.org Launches Hotspot Program!

SoCalFreeNet.org is proud to announce a new partnership with www.sputnik.com to grow free wireless Internet access in coffee shops, retail properties and residential neighborhoods in San Diego (and beyond)! Using the Sputnik management platform, we can help you set up a free wireless network. It’s a simple 4 step process: Contact us! e-mail: location(at)socalfreenet.org .

Order DSL or cable from a provider that allows sharing (such as www.speakeasy.net, www.dslextreme.com, or www.megapath.net), or Cox Business cable.

We’ll help you select hardware. A coffee shop or small retail location can order one piece of equipment: http://www.sputnik.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=60 We’ll dispatch a volunteer to help with configuration, setup and training!
