According to the SDUT, a replacement has been found for Charles Harrington Elster:

Beginning early next month, Martha Barnette is the new co-host of KPBS/FM 89.5′s “A Way With Words,” the weekly radio program devoted to exploring English. She joins author and linguist Richard Lederer. “A Way With Words” airs Saturdays at 4 p.m. and repeats Sundays at 10 a.m.

Barnette is a journalist and author of three books that reflect her enthusiasm for uncovering the surprising stories behind words. She holds an undergraduate degree in English from Vassar College, and did graduate work in classical languages at the University of Kentucky. She also studied Spanish at the ILISA School in Costa Rica. Barnette
also is a former reporter for The Washington Post.

Though it looks like the A Way With Words home page has not been updated to reflect the hire.

I knew about this about 3 months ago. It’s good to be on the inside. :)

What a lot of people don’t know is the show has been in re-runs for a few months, too.
