Comments! We Get Comments! We Get Lots & Lots Of Comments!

So a few weeks ago, when we were mentioning Michael Hemmingson’s republishing, there was some gosssip in this comment, to whit:

Could be she had to sign a confidentiality statement when canned – you know, “if you don’t sign this and agree not to talk about it, you won’t get this big severance check we’e offering.” Or her employment contract could have had a binding fiduciary duty clause, which many offices like that will have: you don’t make public what goes on at the workplace while employed or even after termination or resignation, or else you’ll get sued.

Or maybe it’s all rumor.

Lots of rumor and gossip in San Digeo

Today, in in the thread about The Hyatt Barbarella herself commented on this gossip:

This has nothing to do with the current topic, but I stumbled upon a thread a few weeks old, and in response to some very clever speculation regarding the end of my career as a paralegal, I can only say “I’m not at liberty to discuss.” I am happy, and was ready to be making my living as a full-time professional writer. I look forward to seeing more bloggers in the R!

“The R” must be some hipster lingo for the San Diego Reader. And hey, looks like her new site is rolling out.

ALSO We have a new addition to comments on this blog, you can now subscribe to the comments on a post once you make a comment to a post. Many thanks to fellow San Diego Blog writer Oso for pointing out ScriptyGoddesses plugin.

We hipsters at The R don’t call it The R — that’s in Barbarella’s keen head world. We like to call it “The Alt-Weekly.” Because what other alt-weekly out there can compete? They try, and they die (like that other place, The F.)
