By odd circumstances, last night Leah and I ended up sipping beer at The Top of the Hyatt. It may be the best view in San Diego. The drinks are expensive, but that’s to be expected. On a Monday night it was easy to get in. I’ve been one time before, on a Friday or Saturday, and the line was just impossible. My group simply gave up on trying to get in. The Hyatt is adjacent to Seaport Village Trolley Stop, which is how I got there last night. (Did you know intra-downtown Trolley fares are only $1.25? It sure has heck beats the price of parking at the Hyatt, a price I don’t even want to contemplate!)
Anyway, check out The Top of the Hyatt next time you need a little something to refresh your perspective. San Diego is beautiful from 40 stories up whilst sipping an adult beverage.
Side question: What’s the best view in San Diego? If not Top of the Hyatt? From Cabrillo Monument? From Mr. A’s? From Kate Sessions Park? From The Mt Soledad Cross? From the Coronado Bay Bridge, assuming you could actually stop and look?

This has nothing to do with the current topic, but I stumbled upon a thread a few weeks old, and in response to some very clever speculation regarding the end of my career as a paralegal, I can only say “I’m not at liberty to discuss.” I am happy, and was ready to be making my living as a full-time professional writer. I look forward to seeing more bloggers in the R!
I’ve never been to the top of the Hyatt, but it’s a great location! Wish I’d known about the bar the last time I was in town. Very cool!
