If you’re a pack-rat geek like me, you’ve probably got various pieces of electronic equipment and PCs lying around with only one thing in common. They don’t work.
Here’s your chance to properly dispose of them for FREE!
I saw this notice in Monday’s San Diego Union Tribune:
Get ready to recycle
Residents of San Diego and unincorporated areas such as Jamul or Valley Center are eligible to participate in a free electronics recycling event Sept. 18 at Solar Turbines, 4200 Ruffin Road, Kearny Mesa. Reservations start today and can be made by calling the city of San Diego at (858) 694-7000. Residents can bring up to five each of the following: computer monitors, printers, central processing units and televisions. Peripheral computer devices such as keyboards, mice and speakers also will be accepted without limits.

I just found out that Office Depot and HP are offering a FREE recycling program too.
This program ends on Sept 6 2004.
Concerning the San Diego related recycling event, you need to call the city of San Diego at (858) 694-7000 and make an appointment. According the person I spoke with, the city will send you a “ticket” that will allow you to dump your stuff at Solar Turbine. You can’t just show up.
