It’s Hot, Conserve Power

SDUT is reporting that the National Weather Service is saying it will be hot today.

Also, SDUT reports:

Cal ISO, the state’s power grid operator, declared today and tomorrow power watch days, urging Californians to curtail energy use as much as possible, especially during the peak-demand hours between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Cal ISO’s website is ca iso dot com. They have a graph of current power demand with projections. Their “declarations” are via PDF press releases on their New Releases page.

They say this:

A continuing triple-digit heat wave in the inland areas is expected to drive demand for power. Conservation will help navigate through the daily afternoon peak. The California ISO requests the state’s consumers to watch their energy consumption, curtailing the use of electricity whenever possible, especially in the high demand afternoon hours between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m.
