Via a thread on the newsgroup sdnet.general comes this link on AmericanSingles.com which features a San Diego newsanchorwoman from the past San Diegans should remember. I was going to post a picture, but now think better of it. The links on the AmericanSingles site are public, so it seems like something we can link to.
I wonder whether having pictures and profiles so readily available on a dating site is such a hot idea, really.

Ross is mentioned in this story about San Diego news in the 70s. She may also have been in an Episode of Simon & Simon. And further searches show this post, to Poynter Online, where a person with that name talks about working with ones’ boss as a News Anchor.

I’ll add, the photo appears to be a headshot from the 80s — I can’t seem to find any images online besides the one in the profile. But I think it’s *not* Carol LeBeau at all.

I’d bet $50 on it being Alison Ross! I googled the name! And there’s an AR who lives in LJ! Who ran in a marathon! Or maybe a half marathon! That pic is at least 15! Years old!
After she did TV, she was doing morning news on KOGO, and one day they dropped her without a word… one of those deals where you think she might be on vacation, but she never comes back.
I guess my question is - does american singles automatically update the age, or is it a static field in a really old ad that has never been updated. I tend to think it might be an old ad - who would use a B&W photo in this age of cheap digicams. On the other hand, it says her last login was today, and the last update was last month.
