The Padres lost to the average Philadelphia Phillies 5-2 to start the series in a rut. Two elements have turned common recently, and they showed up again tonight: a lot of errors and a few too many home runs allowed. San Diego’s pitching is anything but unimpressive, though.

The Pads can’t afford to lose many games right now, so wish them luck tomorrow. The series continues at home at 7:05 p.m.
