I’ve gone ahead and added a sidebar link to the San Diego Independent Media Center. Read more about the process in this Columbia Journalism Review.

The San Diego Indymedia has a paper version as well, that one can get around town, entitled “San Diego Free Press.” Its’ mission statement is:

The purpose of the San Diego Free Press shall be to publish a progressive print publication in the greater San Diego area, and to practice journalism that provides news and opinions unreported or underreported in other local media.

It seems a lofty and laudable goal. Though their opinions tend to be predictable. Also, I think I’d like to see more hard reporting from such an entity.
