A driver stopped on an Iowa highway this month was found with flight-training manuals, Arabic documents and night-vision goggles, and he told troopers he knew of terrorist plans to shoot up trains in San Diego, according to court papers.

According to a 42-count indictment, Mohammad El-Mezain and other leaders of the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development have wired an estimated $12.4 million to various Hamas-controlled organizations in the West Bank and Gaza since 1995. The charity’s assets were frozen by the Bush administration shortly after Sept. 11, 2001.
