Con: More. More. More

Interiority has a post called Jedi Knights with Thick Glasses which is a great tale of Con adventures. Covers: parking, comics, expensive convention food, Jude Law, Adrian Tomine, and a Calvin sticker.

Emese has photos! Dominic Monaghan, Sin City, Jessica Alba, Jude Law, Frank Miller, Robert Rodriguez, Bai Ling, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, and a bunch of headshots of people in costume, including “Cat-Man” (background on Cat Man)

Sebastian Holsclaw Quick Thoughts on the Comic-Con

Oh cool, the SDUT has a whole gallery of photos from Con 2004 (I love that the one with the girls has been clicked the most:

“Models pose for convention-goers at the eAdultComics.com booth.* Viewed: 1723 times.

Gay and Lesbian Times
And San Diego/Southern California’s Gay & Lesbian Times has a cover story in their latest issue entitled Superheroes and the Feminine Mystique:

These larger-than-life women wear fabulous outfits, are strong and powerful, fight for the general good and men everywhere love (and fear) them. Is it any wonder that a generation of gay men have idolized these divas in the same way that previous generations have identified with Bette Davis, Joan Crawford and Judy Garland?

Gigglecam covers Neil Gaiman at the Con, plus photos of irascible PVP creator Scott Kurtz, and a plush figure too. Here’s the site for the PVP webcomic.

Cosplay.com’s forums with lots of photos. Cosplay is:

“a Japanese subculture centered on dressing as characters from manga, anime and video games, and, less commonly, live action television shows, movies or Japanese pop music bands.

The term cosplay (pronounced kosupure in Japanese) is a contraction combining the words “costume” and “play” which accurately describes the hobby of having fun by dressing up as one’s favorite characters.

And Pinguino has a great gallery of everything Con 2004. Awesome!

And here’s A complete SDUT wrap up of Comic-Con 2004. Nice coverage!

Frinklin speaks: a very comic book weekend part 2

And Defamer predictably snaps on the Con about the various Star Wars announcements. Defamer and Disembodied Brain are different. Go figure. :-)

If you’re looking for movie news on The Incredibles, Sin City, Constantine, Batman Begins, and Revenge of the Sith Aint it cool news has lots of catty gossip and pix. And for the mainstream recap: check out the USA Today article.

And even LAist gets into the act posting about the Con, though they incorrectly cite comiccon.com as the website of the con. Everyone around these parts knows it’s comic DASH con DOT org. And LAist still doesn’t have their trackback working. :-(

And here’s a summary of Comic Con Schwag from me, ArtLung.

Cuppa Tea has more summary-esque-ness as well as some great photos.

Mikeintosh.net with even more photos - he’s some kind of comics pro - - and has a cool LiveJournal. I found these via Pixelfish, who also has an awesome narrative of con.

And the last of the SDBloggers: Engineering My Own Doom — with the best coverage of the LINES, one of the most prominent features of the Con.
