Gotta love this story:

A dog that vanished 15 months ago from a San Diego home has turned up more than a thousand miles away in a Seattle suburb.

When Dharma was taken to the pound, a microchip was discovered in her back. She’s been given a health certificate and clearance for a flight home

Sounds like a little dog training might have helped! Reminder: If you’re vacationing or away on business, consider a local San Diego pet boarding facility rather than leaving a dog or cat outside (or in) alone. It’s amazing how gates can simply open themselves at the worst of times and pets can escape.
