Previously we noted San Diego and the Chargers are hitched up til 2008, well, new Los Angeles blog LAist covers the story here, noting that Los Angeles has been promised a team by 2008.

So, that can’t be the Chargers, right?

And thanks, LAist, we needed to be reminded of Ryan Leaf.

    Hey, only a 2-hour-drive to boo a Manning. ;-)

LAist believes that the Indianapolis Colts are now the team most likely to play in Los Angeles. Colts owner Jim Irsay has ties to the music industry, is a member of Riviera Country Club, and isn’t thrilled with the stadium situation in Indiana.

LA/Orange County can easily support 2 football teams. The Los Angeles metro has a 12+ population of 10.6 million.
San Diego’s 12+ population is less than 2.5 million.
