Fahrenheit Final Word

As previously reported, Fahrenheit has shut down.

There’s now a suicide note on the site from Adam Gnade:

The rumors are true. Fahrenheit is dead. No more issues or movie screenings or parties or the self-indulgent literary adventures you loved to hate or hated to love. For those of you that loved us, we loved you too-and we made this magazine for you. Our main goal was to create a voice to prove that San Diego was not a cultural void-or maybe that it was a void but that with our combined goodwill and heart we could make it something bigger and better. Whether that happened or not remains to be seen. As I’m writing this, Fahrenheit has only been gone for five days. Perspective will come later-for you and for us. Maybe we changed something, maybe we didn’t. We’ll see.

They’ll be missed.

UPDATE: Also, I’m going to remove the Fahrenheit link from the sidebar of this site. In the comments below, please feel free to suggest other media outlets targeted on San Diego you feel should be added. I can’t guarantee that we’ll agree — but I’m always curious to see what people are reading out there.

Uhg. Wish there were actually enough media outlets to debate about. Who is up for some more plastic surgery?

And botox! And cell phone plans!

Oh, I thought of one, San Diego Magazine. That’s not on the list now.

has anyone talked to Adam or any of the guys & gals at Farenheit? As bummed as I am to hear that they’ve shut down, I’m also bummed to read that most of them are leaving town. fun bunch, they’ll be missed. :(
