I moved back to San Diego in 1999, at a time when the tech news scene was flourishing in Silicon Valley, New York, and Los Angeles. San Diego never had much in the way of that stuff. Two publications that do an okay job of covering local news are FreshNews.com and The T Sector. They do a lot of rip-and-read — republishing of press releases, but they’re still required reading if you work in Technology. They have newsletters that include events listings that are useful — so folks can see what’s hap’nin’ around town from a tech/geek/new media/wireless point of view.

I find myself wishing they had a bit more moxie, but they kinda work.
